From the moment Harvard-Westlake announced the purchase of Weddington Golf & Tennis, it committed to thoughtful engagement with the community about its plans for the site. For the nearly two years, school representatives have gone door-to-door and attended numerous community meetings to introduce ourselves to our neighbors. School representatives have also engaged stakeholders in the development of the design principles that will inform our plans.
During the Summer and Fall of 2019, Harvard-Westlake will significantly expand its outreach to the broader Studio City community, as well as those who love Weddington Golf & Tennis. This outreach will include conversations with individual home and business owners, meetings with community stakeholder groups, and listening sessions to which the community will be invited. The school’s goal is to make sure that any member of the community who wants their voice to be heard has their voice heard. Harvard-Westlake intends to incorporate the feedback it receives during this outreach process into subsequent drafts of the project plan and the associated operating plan for the River Park Campus.
